I've been drawing since I was able to hold a pencil, however, my road into art as a career has been rather bumpy. <\/p>
<\/p>
Following a pretty disappointing experience with GCSE art and a rather lacklustre 'D' I downed tools completely for about ten years! But that passion and interest never went completely sour. It wasn't until I was in my late thirties that I decided I wasn't going to give up and I began honing my skills once more. During the first UK lockdown, I wrote my first children's books and sent some of my illustrations in along with my submission and a hopeful plea to be consider as the illustrator of the book as well. To my surprise and glee, the publisher was more than happy with that arrangement! A second book soon followed along with more illustration and art opportunities. <\/p>
<\/p>
Fast forward 6 years and here I am embarking on a career as a full time artist and illustrator. I received a grant from the Arts Council to develop my creative practice over the next year and this has led to my successful application to Cambridge's Masters in Children's Book Illustration course, which I begin next year! <\/p>
<\/p>
I am for my art to inspiring and representative of my whimsy and things that I find inspiring. My skill has evolved over the years although I still favour the traditional pen and ink. I use a combination of printing, ink and painting techniques to create my art. My work has been sold in galleries in the UK and I have been involved with numerous exhibits in Norfolk and Suffolk. <\/p>
